Changes to data URL
As of April 2006, the URL for the contingency data used by NotamView has changed. If you try to download the current
Notams and get a "Requested data not found" message and you have not changed the URL, this may be the reason. To use
the new data, take the following steps:
Run NotamView
Select File, Options on the menu bar
If the London URL is "http://www.nats.co.uk/operational/pibs/pib1.txt" then you need to change
the URL to "http://pibs.nats.co.uk/operational/pibs/pib1.txt"
Similarly, if the Scottish URL is "http://www.nats.co.uk/operational/pibs/pib2.txt" then you need to change
the URL to "http://pibs.nats.co.uk/operational/pibs/pib2.txt"
If you are using pib3.txt and pib4.txt, these should be changed as above. However, the use of these pibs is not recommended.
Close NotamView and restart. The download will now work correctly.
Task Issues
Bug in distance calculation
Whilst the task distance calculation was never intended to be something you might rely on, there appears to be a bug
in versions up to 0.8 which causes an incorrect distance to be returned if an out-and-return task is selected. The distance returned is
exactly half of the actual distance. All other distances are believed correct.
